Direct answer: footprint alone cannot produce a defensible installed price. A 10×10 or 10×12 manual kit on verified concrete and a 12×16 motorized attached system have different load paths, electrical scope and permit exposure. Why price does not scale evenly with square footage
- Standard kit increments can make two nearby footprints use the same product class.
- Extra posts, motor zones, custom cuts and drainage can create step changes.
- Footing count, soil/frost requirements and attachment conditions do not scale as one simple rate.
- Freight and access depend on crate handling, not covered square feet.
- Permits, electrical mobilization and engineering can be similar for a small and medium project.
Replace the placeholders in the right order
- Lock outside-post and roof dimensions.
- Request the exact kit configuration and freight handoff.
- Obtain the baseplate/anchor detail before pricing concrete.
- Separate assembly, electrical, permit/engineering and accessories.
- Add a visible contingency only after exclusions are known.
